Bachelor Party One Minute, Minister Another

In February 2020, I drove from Las Vegas to Huntington Beach CA to attend a bachelor party. Most people go the opposite direction for that purpose. Call me unconventional.

The Best Man was the organizer and he’s a bit on the wild side so I prepared mentally for risque circumstances.

Mount Charleston, Nevada – August 9, 2020

2020 August 9 – View from the ridge on the Mount Charleston Trail, Nevada – After surviving the day hiking 15 miles at high elevation, we returned home in anguish.

In August, we hiked the Mt. Charleston Trail. We started as kids with teeth bearing smiles and unbridled excitement. We ended with pained expressions. We will be back to make the summit.

What we thought would happen

How to Create Time Out of Thin Air – Part 2

Not enough time in your day right?

The adage that time is money makes a lot of sense on the surface but actually it doesn’t hold much water. Here’s why. Money is infinite, time is not. Once consumed, time is forever gone. It can not be reproduced. In contrast, money once consumed, can be reproduced. Ask the Feds. They print trillions of dollars at the drop of a hat. Similarly once you spend, you can still go work and make money to replace what was spent.

Spending money can also be delayed and while it is not spent, it will still be there when you decide to spend it. Time doesn’t care if you don’t use it. It will be gone whether you use it or not.

Make no mistake though! If you feel challenged or even frustration because you never seem to have enough time, you can still “create” time for yourself.

How a 25 cent nail can derail your weekend and cost you 10 hours + $100

2020 August 3 – Brianhead, Utah – We were scoping out a 2020/2021 ski-cation site driving up from Vegas to Brianhead Utah for the day. Fake snow in background in pic above is just us posing in front of a billboard for a photo op as temps are reaching the 80s. A planned three hour tour of Brianhead Utah turned into an unexpected but necessary overnight stay. On our way up from Vegas, we experienced a flat tire soon after helping a stranded motorist in 108 degree temp just south of St. George Utah. Ironic! We forgot Utah is closed Sundays. So no way to repair the flat, unwise to drive on a donut spare at 50 mph while cars rip by at 80 mph, thus the overnight stay.

How To Create Time Out of Thin Air

The Problem

You may be reading this because you feel the chaos of your life and your heart races while you’re reminded that you don’t have the time, money, tranquility, and spirit to be at peace. Face it, you don’t have FU money. If you did, you’d have your own blog and you wouldn’t give a F*&% about anything! If this isn’t you, then accept my congratulations and go have a Mai Tai.

When you were a toddler, you didn’t worry about time, finances, or making an appointment. Life was fun. You ate tasty food and desert Mom prepared. Then you played more. At the end of the day, you bathed and went to bed, only to repeat it all over the next day. You knew good food, a good sleep, and play time could be expected. You lived abundantly and securely. Then somewhere along the way, you aged, took on responsibilities, made more money, had kids, maybe a divorce, and things changed in a blink of an eye. You found yourself living under constant duress.

Meaning of Kozy

Being Kozy is about you implementing one easy change to make your life more enjoyable and less stressful.

It is also about continuing that process.

The word, Kozy, was derived from my Japanese name Kozen. If separated into parts, Ko means abundance and Zen means tranquility no different than what is sought for in Zen Buddhism. In fact the Chinese Kanji character is the same as that of Zen Buddhism.
